MICHI
MICHI
MICHI is a compact pop-up café in Bandung designed around the idea of a pause. Set within just over 20 square metres, the project transforms a small frontage into a lively kiosk where visitors can stop, order, rest, and enjoy a moment between shopping and the city.
Exploring brass, terrazzo, and fabrics, we seamlessly weave them into a vibrant palette dominated by pink and yellow hues.
The outcome transformed into a lively kiosk design, inviting visitors to order and enjoy a variety of beverages and snacks effortlessly. The focal point of the design lies in the seating area, crafted to encourage the idea of unfolding activity in an urban context. Inspired by seating found in train or bus stations, the bench supports people to rest between standing and sitting poses.
Defined by an arch-shaped wall treatment, the space is enveloped in the warmth of pink-hued wood, complemented by strategically placed mirrors that create an illusion of expansiveness. Through material exploration, brass metal, terrazzo, and fabrics are intertwined with a palette dominated by vibrant pink and yellow hues, establishing a visual allure within the architectural and interior composition.
