Luigi Bar
Spatial
A discreet entrance leads to a stair sequence that operates as a spatial threshold, separating the interior from the street and slowing the pace of arrival.
The upper-floor VIP rooms introduce a controlled shift in perspective: one-way mirrored windows allow occupants to observe the bar below without being visible from it, reinforcing themes of authority and discretion.
The seating layout accommodates varying degrees of engagement. Guests may gather directly at the bar, occupy peripheral banquette seating to see live DJ performances, or ascend via the spiral staircase to more secluded areas. The upper-floor VIP rooms introduce a controlled shift in perspective: one-way mirrored windows allow occupants to observe the bar below without being visible from it, reinforcing themes of authority and discretion.
Materiality reinforces this spatial hierarchy. Dark timber surfaces absorb light, lending weight and intimacy to the interior, while illuminated stone elements behind the bar allow texture to emerge through light. The metal details catch light intermittently, introducing moments of restrained glamour. This sense of indulgence extends into secondary spaces, such as the bathroom, where reflective silver mosaic tiles line the ceiling, creating an unexpected and immersive experience. Through controlled sequencing, material contrast, and calibrated visibility, the project frames the bar not as a place defined by secrecy, but as an environment shaped by the careful orchestration of social presence.
