Spatial
Exclusivity within the restaurant is expressed as a shared experience. Reflecting Indonesian dining habits, where meals are commonly enjoyed in groups, the interior is organised around a series of dining zones that accommodate collective gatherings while maintaining comfort and restraint. Proportion and spatial sequencing balance openness with intimacy, supporting varied dining modes within a cohesive environment. The interior language draws from Western golden-age steakhouses, articulated through a combination of neo-classical structure and Art Deco influence. Marble surfaces lend weight and permanence, while mosaic detailing introduces texture and rhythm at a more intimate scale. Dark wood textures and warm-toned upholstery temper the space's formality, making it feel composed yet inviting.
Architectural interventions are guided by the interior programme. A skylight above the double-height dining hall introduces natural light into the restaurant's spatial centre, shaping the atmosphere throughout the day without disrupting the subdued mood expected of a steakhouse. The existing spiral staircase is retained as a sculptural element, providing continuity between dining levels. The arrival sequence reinforces the dining narrative. A glass window showcases the meat display positioned at the reception, establishing an immediate impression of quality, followed by framed views into the main kitchen, where the preparation of steak becomes a visible part of the experience. The project presents a contemporary interpretation of the classic steakhouse, where luxury is articulated through spatial clarity, material restraint, and shared presence.
